Thank you for considering grooming with JJ, all grooms will need to be in agreement with the terms of service set out here and on your waiver form which you sign before any grooming takes place. If you have any questions please do get in touch with JJ at wildfiggrooming@gmail.com.

OWNER DECLARATION

I confirm that I am the legal owner/authorised handler of the dog(s) presented for grooming and/or training, and that all relevant information regarding my dog’s health, behaviour, and history has been fully disclosed on the client record card and to the groomer/trainer and have the right to decide the dogs groom and consent to any welfare grooming.

HEALTH & WELFARE

I have disclosed any known health issue and can confirm my bitch is not pregnant (if applicable).

I confirm all vaccinations are up to date and understand if zoonotic or zoanthropic diseases (including parasite infestation, ie fleas and ticks) are found then I must collect my dog asap with full payment for the discontinued groom.

I understand that grooming and handling may reveal underlying or pre-existing conditions (including skin issues, parasites, lumps, injuries, irritations, or behavioural changes) that were not visible prior to treatment.

I accept that the groomer/trainer is not responsible for conditions that are pre-existing, hidden, or that become apparent during or after services.

RISK & LIABILITY

I understand that grooming and training involves tools, equipment, restraint, and animal handling.

I acknowledge that despite careful handling and safety practices, minor accidental injuries (including nicks, cuts, or clipper irritation) may occur as an inherent risk.

I accept responsibility for my dog’s actions at all times and will not hold the groomer/trainer liable for injury or damage caused to me, my dog, my property or by my dog to people, animals, or property. I understand accidents happen when dealing with animals and will take no action against my groomer or trainer.

BEHAVIOUR & SERVICE INTERRUPTION

I confirm that I have disclosed any history of aggressive, reactive, or unpredictable behaviour (including biting, snapping, nipping, or fear-based responses).

Has your dog ever shown aggression towards another groomer people or other animals? Yes No
If yes, please provide details and triggers: ____________________________________________________________________________

I understand that if my dog becomes aggressive, highly stressed, or unsafe to handle:

  • The session may be stopped immediately
  • My dog may be returned with an incomplete groom/training session
  • My dog may be required to return on another date to complete the service
  • Full payment remains due for each appointment, including incomplete sessions

I understand that ongoing grooming may require veterinary-assisted sedation or a structured training plan with welfare grooms before future appointments can continue.

The groomer/trainer reserves the right to refuse, stop, or modify services at any time and to use appropriate safety equipment where necessary. Failure to disclose behaviour history or aggressive tendencies may result in immediate termination and full payment being required.

*GROOMING ONLY – MATTING & SHAVING CONSENT (CLOSE SHAVING YOUR DOG)

Under the Animal Welfare Act, 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal: - this includes prolonged ‘de-matting’ which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog. If you bring in your dog with more than 20 minutes of de-matting work, we are required by law to clip your dog short humanely or refer you to your vet to do the same. I understand that severely matted coats can cause pain, skin damage, and health issues, and may require close clipping or full shaving for welfare reasons.

Where matting is identified, I consent to de-matting or clipping as deemed appropriate by the groomer. I understand I may be contacted where possible if this was not apparent at drop-off.

I acknowledge that:

  • Matting may conceal skin conditions, injuries, or cause temporary behavioural changes
  • Shaving may significantly alter my dog’s appearance, leaving the coat very short as we are re setting the dogs coat to hopefully keep control of this with regular grooms as the coat re grows.
  • I understand that matting is due to the dogs breed, coat type and general maintenance in-between grooms and the time gone between grooms and sometimes de matting is inevitable with these factors.
  • Removal of matting involves close blade work and carries an increased risk of minor injury (including nicks, cuts, clipper irritation, or revealing sores) and the groomer is not liable in any case of accidents, irritation or injury caused by the removal of matted fur.
  • Negative review blackmail will not be tolerated, you have the right to collect your dog and have their fur dematted at the vets instead, no refunds are given and full grooming fee is still due on collection
  • Extra de-matting fees are applicable, from £15 up to £40 in addition to the grooming fee due to the drastic deterioration of our equipment. dematting will also take longer to complete and in some cases may be spread across 2 appointments for dog welfare reasons, payment for each appointment is due in full.

I accept that the groomer is not liable for issues resulting from pre-existing matting, neglect, or the necessary removal of a matted coat. Veterinary care, if required, is the owner’s full responsibility including in the event of accidental injury during the dematting process.

VETERINARY CONSENT

In the event of an emergency, I authorise the groomer/trainer to seek veterinary treatment and act on my behalf if I cannot be contacted. I accept full responsibility for any veterinary costs incurred and the trainer or groomer is not liable for any accidents caused.

PAYMENT, CANCELLATION COMPLAINTS & REFUNDS

I agree that:

  • Payment is due as agreed at the time of booking/service
  • Missed appointments or late cancellations will be charged at the normal rate
  • No refunds will be given once a service has been carried out
  • Any concerns must be raised at the time of collection/session.
  • Bad review blackmail will not be tolerated and security footage will be given the authorities where the groomers duty has been called into question, the welfare of the dog will always come first.

Social media pictures will be taken of your dogs before and after groom, this can help a small business grow and by booking with the groomer I agree to social media pictures of my dog being shared online for positive business growth purposes.

I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service outlined above.

This agreement applies to all dogs owned by me and to all current and future grooming and training services.
